this solution, however, would allow me to use <a href="http://www.nongnu.org/straw/">straw</a> more. which means i might be inclined to hack on it. hopefully this idea doesn't go the way of the dodo, and alex and <a href="http://feedster.com/">feedster</a> can work out a solution.
